Arrival & Departure

DROP-OFF & PICK-UP: When arriving for class, please note that Arts Together has two entrances. Locations of class arrival and departure are listed on the chart below and will also be posted on each door. Students will meet their instructors in the lobby before going up to class. The pick-up location will be the same as the drop-off location.

Due to the large number of students participating in our classes, we are unable to accommodate and be responsible for unsupervised children. Our lobbies are small, we ask that you arrive no more than 10 minutes before your class starts and that you pick up your child promptly after class.

PARKING AND SAFETY: Student drop-off and pick-up times are very busy timesfor our building. We share parking space with the Carriage House Senior Apartments right behind us and we need your help in order to be good neighbors.

  1. If you need to park in the circular driveway to assist your child into or out of the building, please pull all the way over to the right-hand curb, leaving the left lane open to through-traffic.

  2. If you will be waiting at Arts Together throughout your child’s entire class time, after dropping off your child, please move your car out of the circular driveway and park on Saint Mary’s Street, Jones Street or other neighboring streets.

  3. Please do not park (even for a minute) in the driveway leading to the rear of the building – this is a fire/emergency lane that must be left clear for access to the senior citizen apartments behind us

  4. The parking lot behind Arts Together does not belong to us. Please do not park there – no exceptions.

  5. During drop-off and pick-up times, our circular driveway and Saint Mary’s Street are both very busy – please always be alert to traffic and your child’s whereabouts.

COVID-19/ILLNESS PROTOCOLS

For the safety of all Arts Together participants, we continue to implement prevention strategies as a best practice which also reduces the spread of COVID-19, the flu, colds, etc. Click here for more in formation.

Preventing illness is a team effort and requires families and staff to continue with safe practices as well.

What you can do:

Stay Up To Date on Vaccinations

  • Staying up to date on routine vaccines is essential to prevent illness from many different infections. Vaccinations are now available for all ages over 6 months.

Stay Home When Sick

  • People with symptoms of infectious diseases, including COVID-19, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and gastrointestinal infections, should stay home and get tested for COVID-19.

Hand Hygiene Etiquette

  • Washing hands can prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Hand washing and hand sanitizer are highly encouraged and used often.

ONGOING SAFETY MEASURES:

Students and staff are required to remain at home and get PCR tested if there are any symptoms of COVID-19. Once the PCR test is clear, then Students and Staff can return. COVID testing is recommended if your child is exposed.

If your child is exposed to someone with COVID-19, they will need to stay home until that person has a clear/negative PCR test. If your child shows symptoms after being exposed, then they will need to get tested as well.

Lastly, please see Isolation and Quarantine recommedations for additional information.

Cleaning and Disinfection

  • We clean surfaces at least once a day to reduce the risk of germs spreading by touching surfaces. There will be easy access to hand sanitizing and continued promotion of handwashing. There are increased cleaning protocols within the building.

Masks are optional

  • Wearing a mask helps reduce exposure to self and others. Surgical masks will be available to students and N95s available to staff who need them.

Clean Air And Ventilation Systems

  • We continue to use HEPA Filters, air purification systems, and open windows for outside air. Air purifiers are in use throughout the building.

Returning To School After COVID-19 Diagnosis, Exposure, or Illness

Arts Together is committed to the safety of all of our participants. With the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the leadership of Wake County Public Health and School System, we have adopted the following COVID-19 policy. This policy will be implemented and adopted by all programs provided by Arts Together, including Preschool, Arts, and Dance for both youth and adults.

Our health guidance follows requirements from the NC Department of Health and Human Services and recommendations from Wake County Public Health. Strong Schools NC Public Health Toolkit.

  • Diagnosed with COVID-19 - no symptoms:

May return if it has been 5 days since diagnosed with COVID-19 AND Have not developed any symptoms

Must continue to wear a mask when returning from 5-day quarantine

If unable to wear a mask, must stay home for an additional 5 days

Diagnosed with COVID-19 - has symptoms:

May return from quarantine if it has been at least 5 days since you first had symptoms or from the date of the positive test, be fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicine and symptoms have improved.

    When symptoms have improved:

Must continue to wear a mask when returning from 5-day quarantine

If unable to wear a mask, must stay home for an additional 5 days

  • Have you been exposed to someone with COVID-19?

This means that you know that you have been or are in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19.

Whether you are excluded from school will depend upon where your contact occurred (e.g., in the home, at school, in the community), whether you have symptoms, and whether any other exemption applies. In many instances, you will be able to remain in school following a non-household exposure.

Have you had a non-household exposure to COVID-19?

Because we require masks in our district, you may remain in school without any exclusion period following a non-household exposure to COVID-19 as long as you do not have symptoms. This exemption applies to both masked and unmasked non-household exposures.

Following the exposure, you must continue to wear a mask at school. If possible, you should get a COVID-19 test on the day that you are notified you are a close contact and 5 days after the exposure.

If you develop symptoms, you should stay home and follow the “If You Are Experiencing Symptoms” guidance below.

Have you had a household exposure to COVID-19?

You must stay home for 5 days following your last exposure to the household member who’s been diagnosed with COVID-19.

If you are not able to separate from the household member, your “last exposure” would be the day your household member’s isolation period ends and your five-day quarantine period begins after that.

You should get a test, if possible, once it’s been 5 days since the household member began experiencing symptoms or was diagnosed.

Following the end of your quarantine period, you may return to school if you are not experiencing symptoms. You must continue to wear a mask at school. If you are unable to wear a mask, you must remain home for an additional 5 days. If you develop symptoms during your quarantine period, refer to the “If You Are Experiencing Symptoms” section.

  • The NC Department of Health and Human Services requires additional health precautions if you have one of these symptoms often associated with COVID-19:

    Headache

    Negative test, meaning:

    Negative PCR/Molecular or,

Negative rapid antigen test as long as at least one of the following applies: (1) you have not been exposed to COVID-19 in the past 14 days and fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicine and symptoms have improved.

If you have COVID-19 symptoms and have not been tested for COVID-19 or does not have an alternative medical diagnosis:

May return if it has been at least 5 days since first symptoms, be fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicine, and symptoms have improved.

Must continue to wear a mask when returning from 5-day quarantine

If unable to wear a mask, must stay home for an additional 5 days

  • If you experience side effects during the first few days after receiving a COVID-19 vaccination, you should stay home until you are no longer experiencing symptoms and fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicine. You are not required to present an alternate diagnosis, negative COVID-19 test, or stay home for 5 days in order to return to school or work.

  • Quarantine (stay away from others) for 5 days:

The 5 days of quarantine begin on the day after the last known close contact with the COVID-19 positive individual
