Arts Together can almost always use help from volunteers!  Below is some helpful information about our needs and how you can help. We will work with local high school students and public housing residents to help you fulfill required community service hours.

Substitute Teachers

If you have available hours on weekdays, we are working to compile a list of substitute teachers who would be able to step in for our Art, Drama and Dance teachers, as well as general teachers/assistants in the Preschool program.  We are looking for names for the remainder of this school year, as well as for the 2016-2017 school year.  Our morning Preschool programs are in session from 9am to 12noon, and afternoon Preschool meets from 1 to 4pm.

Teaching Assistants for after-school classes

If you have available hours on weekday afternoons or Saturday mornings, we like to place a teaching assistant with each class of students under the age of 9.  Most classes last approximately an hour, a few are an hour-and-a-half long.  Subjects range from art to drama and from modern dance to ballet.  Our fall classes begin in September.

Summer Camp Counselors

If you'd like to fulfill a number of community service hours in a short period of time, we are always on the lookout for talented young camp counselors!  Our summer camps begin June 16 and end August 8; camp hours are approximately 9am-12:30pm and 1-4:30pm. Ideally, you would be able to work a full week, either in the morning or the afternoon.  We make every effort to place you with instructors and camp themes that you find interesting.
