Multi Arts Lead Preschool Teacher Long Term Substitute

Duration: September 2025 - May 2026, 20 hrs per week

Hours: 8:30am - 1:00pm

Pay Rate: $17/hr - $20/hr

The Lead Preschool Teacher is responsible for the care and support of an assigned group of children as part of a teaching team along with Teaching Artists. Arts Together offers weekly classes in art, dance, drama, music and nature play which are instructed by the Teaching Artists.

In addition to supporting these classes, Lead Teachers are responsible for creating and implementing lesson plans during weekly Learning Lab sessions. These lessons will include letter recognition, early math concepts, story time, and more! Arts Together provides biweekly team collaboration time to help support all teachers and students.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of proven experience working with children in a professional setting

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred

  • Creative and energetic

  • Compassionate and positive attitude

  • Solid understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with children, parents and support personnel

  • Knowledgeable of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children

  • Presents oneself in a professional manner in verbal and nonverbal communication

  • Be a team player

Duties:

  • Ensures the safety and supervision of the children at all times; must be able to maintain visual and auditory supervision both indoors and outside.

  • Responsible for the upkeep of an organized, nurturing environment for children that encourages their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

  • Instill a sense of discipline and respect that allows children to work well together and feel a sense of community.

  • Creates and follows developmentally appropriate lesson plans which reflect the multi-arts approach to education.

  • Maintains the overall classroom environment including restocking supplies and keeping an orderly environment

  • Participates in staff training and project days.

  • Communicate with families in a respectful and proactive manner both in person and through our digital platforms.

  • Be punctual when arriving to work and daily class transitions.
