From creating masterpieces with clay to hip hopping or dancing through the decades to hula-hooping, Arts Together runs riot with summertime adventures for children ages 6-8. Compose your own music, paint a picture or dance ‘til the cows come home! These arts enrichment programs allow children to dig deep into favorite artistic disciplines and/or tackle new ones while having lots of fun. Your child creates a summer full of experiences that are the perfect fit for them!

Sign up for one half day camp or do a full day with two! All campers should pack a snack and a reusable drink container each day. Those attending all day will have a supervised 30 minute lunch period and will need to bring their own lunch and two snacks.

Dance Around the World

Explore the world by participating in a multitude of dances! We travel to each continent, learning cultural dances along the way and exploring the wildlife, landforms and climate of each destination. No passport needed!

Art of Yoga

Instructor: Eliza Hearn

Experience the tradition of yoga through art! Campers explore traditional yoga poses, bring awareness to their breath and bodies, and enhance their connection to the world around us through innovative and educational activities.

Dancing Through the Decades

Instructor: Laura Jean Montgomery

Want to learn where today’s most popular dances came from? Join us as we travel back in time to learn famous dance moves like the Charleston, the Twist and the Robot. Campers also explore pop culture with fun, creative crafts! Plus, we share our interpretation of the evolution of dance from past decades to present during an informal sharing on the last day of camp.

Team Machine

Get ready for a week of team building fun! Campers participate in exciting games and activities that require team work and creative thinking. They also brainstorm ideas together to invent their own games. At the end of the week, each team member is awarded a handmade trophy, created by his or her peers, acknowledging the strength that was brought to the group.

Tumble Fun

From handstands to cartwheels, we build strength and increase flexibility in fun and creative ways! Campers learn tumbling basics through the use of tumbling equipment in a safe and nurturing environment.

Karaoke Video Hero Jr

Instructor: Matt Vooris

A rock band meets karaoke with an electronic twist! We sing karaoke together as a group, then break it down into small stations featuring a selection of electronic instruments. Music-related video games will increase the fun and the challenge. Let’s rock! NOTE: This camp has a $20 materials fee.

Fairy Tale Ballet

Instructor: Laura Jean Montgomery

Explore ballet and its fairy tale stories such as Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Swan Lake! Campers learn basic ballet techniques, create ballet-related crafts and examine the history of these famous stories. We share dances from each of the ballets we studied during the week in an informal sharing on the last day of camp.

An Artist a Day

Let’s paint like Picasso, discover why the blue dog is blue, make landscapes with wild colors, become abstract artists and design pop art too! After exploring the work of a famous artist each day, we create our own amazing masterpieces.

Hip Hop Hooray

Instructor: Kathryn Auman

Get funky with us! Build strength, coordination and flexibility by learning rhythmic, stylized hip hop movements combined with some breakdancing basics. Campers also create cool hip-hop crafts while learning about its history.

Clay Creations

Instructor: Renée Boyette

Give your hands and imagination a workout as you develop your clay building skills! We make glazed sculptures, pots, bowls and more using a variety of hand-building techniques, including pinch, slab and coil. NOTE: Clay projects also need time to fire in the kiln and will be ready for pick up at Arts Together approximately two weeks after the end of camp. This camp also has a $20 materials fee.

Hoops for Health

Instructor: Grayson Gant Hampson

Spend the week twirling and swirling as we learn the basics of hula-hooping plus some special tricks that leave your head spinning! Each camper creates their own custom-made hoop to take home at the end of the week. NOTE: This camp has a $20 materials fee.

Kinetic Konnection

Instructor: Maegan Eichinger

Explore spatial relationships through art and dance using ideas of contrast, theme, variation and balance! Campers improve coordination, sequencing and rhythm through creative movement and body awareness. Art projects include a large self-mural on paper and 3D creations with found objects.

AUG 5-9

Dabbles in Dance

Instructor: Maegan Eichinger

Jazz, ballet, swing, African and modern, plus an introduction to improvisation and choreography – there are so many styles of dance to learn! Join us as we delve into a different dance form each day. Campers learn specific techniques then branch out into creative exploration.

It’s a Mystery to Me

Do you love mysteries and whodunits? Become a super sleuth as you play all kinds of mystery games to test your crime solving talents. Write mystery capers, follow the clues, then use your forensic skills to “wrap up a big case.” Come be part of Raleigh’s youngest detective agency!
