Megan Bader
Megan Bader is an international dance artist and yoga practitioner originally from North Carolina. She trained at London Contemporary Dance School, earning her BA Hons in Contemporary Dance in 2023. At the core of her work is the belief that performing and teaching are not separate disciplines but one continuous practice - each shaping the other.
As a performer, she has worked with Evelien Jansen, Alethia Antonia, Ben Wright, Jason Mabana, and James Cousins, among others, at venues including Southbank Centre's Riverstage Dance Festival, Frieze London, The Place Theatre, Dock 11, and Camden People's Theatre. Her practice has taken shape across three continents, including five years in London across performance, choreography, and teaching, and most recently in Mauritius, Africa where she led the contemporary programme at Le Studio de Danse and created and performed original work with Les Frères Joseph at Caudan Arts Centre.
Her practice sits firmly within contemporary dance, drawing from floorwork, partnering, improvisation, and release-based technique, alongside somatic principles of breath and tension versus release. Connectivity - to oneself, to others, and to space - is the throughline of everything she makes and teaches, shaping her work within the IN.U framework created by Arran Green and her yoga practice through Yoga Haven Yoga Teacher Training Programme in 2024-2025 and now at Cary Yoga Collective.
Most recently, she worked with Arran Green on The Meeting Place Project, a workshop culminating in a concept video with dancers ranging from age 8 to professional level at Le Studio de Danse. She also taught alongside the Le Studio team for a 10-day workshop with 46 dancers from Seychelles and Rodrigues.
That same relationship to movement - as a site of vulnerability, risk, and untold stories - led her to create Conversations for the Moving Self in 2025, a podcast about pursuing a sustainable movement career. She also co-owns Cary Yoga Collective Yoga Studio in Cary, North Carolina, and recently completed mentoring and choreography programmes with Parable Dance and Pavilion Dance South West.
