Lauren Youngman

Director of Preschool and Summer Camps

Lauren grew up dancing every day in magnet programs in the Wake County Public School System and was known as the neighborhood babysitter. She later earned her B.S. In Child Development from Meredith College and began a nine-year career at Arts Together, serving as Lead Preschool Teacher, Dance Teacher, Summer Site Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator. Inspired by the impact of arts integration, Lauren became a Teaching Artist to share her positive experiences with classroom teachers and students.

She helped pilot the Grow Up Great with the Arts program in collaboration with Carolina Ballet and the North Carolina Museum of Art. She continued to develop and instruct creative movement curriculum for Title 1 Pre-K, Special Education classrooms and the Read to Achieve Program. She was also a part of the Artists in Schools program through the United Arts Council of Wake County, dancing and creating with students from Pre- K to Highschool. As an A+ Fellow of North Carolina, she provided professional development for A+ Schools and presented her work at conferences for organizations such as ArtsR4Life, NCAEYC and Arts Access. Lauren feels incredibly fortunate to have come full circle back to her favorite arts organization as the Director of Preschool and Summer Camps.
