Summer Sparks Juniors (Ages 6-8) 

Arts Together is thrilled to offer a series of fun and enriching summer camp programs for six - to eight-year-olds at Raleigh Charter High School, conveniently located only a five minute drive away from Arts Together. Campers who participate in the Arts Together Summer Sparks camps will be able to take advantage of Raleigh Charter's gorgeous facilities.  Families who are looking for special arts and educational enrichment programs for their children won't want to miss out on these exciting camps, taught by full-time teachers (many from the Wake County Public School System). Six to eight-year-olds can sign up for a half day camp or a whole day comprised of two camps. All campers should pack a snack and a reusable drink container each day. Those attending all day will have a supervised 30 minute lunch period and will need to bring their own lunch.

JUNE 18-22
Where Water Lives: 3-D (FULL DAY CAMP!) Join us on a wet and wild adventure! In the morning we will play with water: painting tornados, hurricanes, icebergs, waterfalls, thunderstorms and more. This mixed media camp takes water forms to the next level. In the afternoon we construct 3-D models of igloos, rain forest and other wonderful water worlds! We will even construct a tornado! No raincoats required- but plan on getting wet. Smocks provided. Note: This is a full day camp that meets in the morning and afternoon. Students will need to bring two snacks and a lunch each day. JUNE 25-29
Trick of The Eye Have you ever looked at an artwork and wondered, “How did they do that”? Over this week we will learn about and create artworks that trick the eye through optical illusions, tessellations, perspective, pop-up techniques, and more.  The process for these projects are easier than you think.  There are a great many artists that have used these techniques in their artwork and we will focus on their creativity and science to make some interesting pieces. Tuition: $165 Instructor: Sarah Harris

Strum Along with Me
: Do you like guitars? If so, this is your camp! Whether or not you’ve ever played a string instrument before, come and learn some new tricks on the guitar. We will explore soprano and baritone ukuleles, cigar box guitars, classical guitars and steel string acoustics. We might even plug in from time to time to see what electric guitars ands basses can do! This will be a week full of string instruments. Bring your own or use one of ours, because it’s going to be Awesome! For beginner, intermediate or expert kids. Tuition: $185 (includes materials fee) Instructor: Matt Vooris

JULY 9-13
Roll With It
: Are you ready to roll!?! With toilet paper and paper towel rolls, we will build, paint, sculpt, print and create some wonderful works of art. Fire breathing dragons, bird feeder, 3-D flowers and pom pom pet miniature houses are just a few of the creative things we will make with these versatile recycled art supplies. Tuition: $165 Instructor: Shari Burgdorf

Exploring Printmaking: Do you know what a print is? It’s a simple copy! It is extremely fun to explore printmaking through thumb & hand prints, leaf prints, styrofoam monster prints, mono prints and more. We will even build a city using prints. So let your thumbs have some fun and come make a print (or two or three or four) with us. Tuition: $165 Instructor: Shari Burgdorf


JULY 16-20
Stepping Into Stardom: Junior Theatre Camp (FULL DAY CAMP!) Do you enjoy singing, dancing, acting, making music, designing costumes and scenery? This week will put all of your creative skills and talents to work as you put together a musical. This camp is a true celebration of the multi-arts approach: Campers will spend the mornings working on the music and the afternoons will focus on staging and designing the show. Note: This is a full day camp that meets in the morning and afternoon. Students will need to bring two snacks and a lunch each day. Tuition: $330.  Instructors: Carolyn Shade-Gray and TBA

JULY 23-27
Tap to The Beat: This tap dance camp, created for 6-8 year olds, will get those toes tapping and bodies moving!  Campers will learn basic tap principles, warmups, skills, steps, and combinations. A focus will also be placed on rhythm, musical concepts such as dynamics and tempo, & basic musical structure.  Traditional tap choreography, as well as historical and contemporary tap dance performers and choreographers will also be discussed.   Dancers must wear tap shoes, bring a water bottle, and be dressed in clothes that are comfortable for movement.  Long hair must be pulled away from the face. Tuition: $165  Instructor: Katie Padget Brown

Wonderful World of Music: Get ready for an adventure into the wild, wonderful world of music! We’ll be off to explore terrains of voice, keyboard, drums and movement as we journey into the realms of musical language, performing and improvisation. Campers will be introduced to the basics of music in an engaging, friendly and encouraging environment. No previous experience needed. Just bring your natural enthusiasm as we chart a course for musical fun. Tuition: $185 (includes materials fee) Instructor: Matt Vooris

 Want a robot to clean your room, help with homework or just be a friend? Never a dull moment creating  your robot plans through drawing, designing, paining and collaging Art bots in the morning and constructing them from a wide variety of mixed media materials in the afternoons! We will even build a working Art bot! All Art bots will go home with their designer at the end of camp. Eric Gifford, ATI manager of engineering, will give a presentation on robots and their functions, featuring robots playing ping-pong to robots on Mars! Note: This is a full day camp that meets in the morning and afternoon. Students will need to bring two snacks and a lunch each day. Tuition: $330. Instructor: Sandy Gifford


Late Dismissal

Late Departure (4:30-5:15pm)         $30 per week  

Campers will be able to stay for up to an extra 45 minutes of activities to round out their day.  In addition, you will have a little more flexibility in your travel time! Students enrolled in afternoon sessions may be picked up as late as 5:15pm. This option is only available at the Raleigh Charter High School location.
