We are thrilled to partner with acclaimed children’s author Kelly Starling Lyons to present a special dance party and book launch for Jada Jones: Dancing Queen on Saturday, July 27! This fourth installment in Kelly’s chapter book series is about dancing to your own beat and giving back.
Join us from 2:00-4:00 PM for arts and craft stations, a short reading by Kelly, book sales and signing, plus lots of dancing! Not only will there be music to groove to, but two of our amazing dance teachers, Kathryn Auman and Nikki Turner, will show 30 kids some cool moves in a Jada Jones Dance Challenge that they will then get to debut at the party. Be sure to sign up for a free spot – RSVP details are below.
Along with Dancing Queen and other books in the Jada Jones series, Kelly will have copies for sale of One More Dino on the Floor, A Girl Named Misty(an easy reader about trailblazing ballerina Misty Copeland) and her new picture book about a child's family reunion and heritage, Going Down Home with Daddy. Twenty percent of book sales will benefit our scholarship fund!
Plus, there will be goodie bags for everyone courtesy of Creative Fusion NC!
Please RSVP for this FREE event to help us get an accurate count for goodie bags and supplies. Sign up is required to participate in the free Jada Jones Dance Challenge, which is limited to 30 spots. Even if a child doesn't get a spot for the dance challenge, they will still be able to show off their dance moves at the party.
Parking is available in the circle drive in front of the Arts Together building in addition to off-street parking. Accessible parking spaces are located in the parking lot behind our building to the right, next to an accessible entrance to our dance studios.
