BEGINNING MODERN TECHNIQUE
(AGES 8-10)

Monday • 4:30-5:30 PM

Instructor: Karen Warr

Students build strength, flexibility and skill as they learn how to move their bodies in the safest, most efficient manner. To cultivate their understanding of the creative, expressive nature of dance alongside their technical skills, they also use improvisation to develop their own personal styles. Tuition includes costume for end-of-year DanceFest performance.

  • Class meets for a total of 31 sessions from September 9 – May 11

  • No classes: December 23 & 30, January 20, March 23, April 6

  • Tuition: $620 (payable upfront or in monthly installments)


BEGINNING/INTERMEDIATE MODERN TECHNIQUE
(AGES 11-15)

Monday • 5:30-6:30 PM

Instructor: Natalie Morton

Focusing on alignment, balance and sequencing, students develop their execution of technique through exercises and combinations across the floor while working on their grasp of dance theory. Classes include improvisation and composition in order to produce versatile dancers who have both solid technique and individual style by the end of the course. Students age 11 must have two years prior dance training or permission from the instructor to enroll. Tuition includes costume for end-of-year DanceFest performance.

ART-A-RAMA
(AGES 9-12)

Monday • 5:30-6:30 PM

Instructor: Renée Boyette

From acrylic painting, papier-mâché and drawing to printmaking, weaving, clay sculpture and more, students express themselves using a multitude of artistic techniques! With their imaginations leading the way, they create all kinds of projects, growing their confidence with their skills.

HIP HOP TWEENS (AGES 10-14)

Instructor: Kayla Grinnell

Leave the stress of school behind, and get ready to move and groove! In this beginning to intermediate course, students learn traditional jazz dance technique and the stylized movements and rhythms of hip hop while building strength, coordination and flexibility. Tuition includes costume for end-of-year DanceFest performance.

  • Class meets for a total of 31 sessions from September 3 – May 12

Students with a thorough grounding in modern dance solidify their execution of technique and understanding of dance theory. Classes include improvisation and composition in order to produce well-rounded dancers who have both strong technique and individual style by the end of the course. Physical alignment, balance, strength, flexibility and control within a tension-free body is emphasized. Ballet shoes required. Students must have two years prior ballet training.

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED BALLET TECHNIQUE (AGES 14+)

Continuing their training in vocabulary, positions and traditional steps, students study more complex elements of ballet while being challenged in sequencing and difficult movements. Physical alignment, balance, strength, flexibility and control within a tension-free body is emphasized. Ballet shoes required. Students must have four years prior ballet training.

INTERMEDIATE MODERN TECHNIQUE

Instructor: Jennifer Huggins

Designed for dancers with a solid command of modern dance technique, this class challenges students to work on alignment and execution of movement for a clearer understanding of dance theory. Improvisation and composition are used to experiment with elements learned in previous classes. Students must have three years prior modern dance training.
