ADVANCED MODERN TECHNIQUE
(AGES 15+)

Monday • 5:30-7:00 PM

Instructor: Michelle Pearson

Serious dancers stretch themselves as they learn complex dance combinations and exercises. Classes are taught in a collaborative environment with a focus on composition and improvisation to heighten students’ creativity. This professional level course is tailored for the future, current or former dance major or professional dancer. Students must have five years prior modern dance training.

  • Class meets for a total of 31 sessions from September 9 – May 11

  • No classes: December 23 & 30, January 20, March 9, April 6

  • Tuition: $650 (payable upfront or in monthly installments)

EARLY BIRD YOGA
(AGES 16+)

Improve your physical and mental well-being by starting your day with energy and balance in this vinyasa yoga class! Students increase body awareness while cultivating flexibility, strength and balance. Breath work and meditation provide a unique opportunity for those wishing to exercise body, mind and spirit. Suitable for all levels.

  • Class meets for a total of 35 sessions from August 20 – May 12

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED MODERN TECHNIQUE (AGES 15+)

Instructor: Kathryn Auman

Students with a solid command of modern dance vocabulary master increasingly difficult dance combinations and exercises as technique is refined. Using a collaborative structure, greater emphasis is placed on composition and improvisation to increase their creative abilities. Students must have four years prior modern dance training.

  • Class meets for a total of 31 sessions from September 3 – May 12

  • No classes: November 26, December 24 & 31, March 10 & 24, April 7

  • Tuition: $650 (payable upfront or in monthly installments)

INTERMEDIATE TEEN MODERN TECHNIQUE
(AGES 13-19)

Wednesday • 4:30-5:45 PM

Instructor: Carter Crew

Students with a thorough grounding in modern dance solidify their execution of technique and understanding of dance theory. Classes include improvisation and composition in order to produce well-rounded dancers who have both strong technique and individual style by the end of the course. Students must have three years prior dance training or permission from the instructor to enroll.

  • Class meets for a total of 31 sessions from September 4 – May 13

  • No classes: November 27, December 25, January 1 & 15, March 11, April 8

Dancers continue their ballet training in vocabulary, positions and traditional steps while being challenged in sequencing and difficult movements. Physical alignment, balance, strength, flexibility and control within a tension-free body is emphasized. Ballet shoes required. Students must have two years prior ballet training.

Designed for dancers with a solid command of modern dance technique, this class challenges students to work on alignment and execution of movement for a clearer understanding of dance theory. Improvisation and composition are used to experiment with elements learned in previous classes. Students must have three years prior modern dance training.

Fridays


MORNING FLOW YOGA
(AGES 16+)

Friday • 9:30-10:30 AM

Instructor: Liz Holt

Perfect for parents dropping off their preschooler but open to all, this yoga class increases flexibility and strength. Students practice varying series of gentle vinyasa flow poses with breath work that gently awakens the body, mind, spirit and senses. Each class ends with restorative relaxation, leaving students feeling refreshed and at peace. Suitable for all levels.
