| WORLD ARTS WORKSHOPS (ages
8-10)
Travel the world and North Carolina through the arts. In these workshops
students will learn the skills and techniques they need as young artists,
while opening their imaginations to the many ways people make art around
the globe. Each workshop will use a different part of the planet for inspiration,
starting with Scandinavia, moving on to Latin America, followed by Asia
and finally returning to explore the rich culture of North Carolina.
The early release workshops for ages 7-9 are all scheduled
to run 3:30-4:30pm. If one hour is not enough for your young artist, consider
registering for our Get a Move On! class, which runs 4:30-5:30pm on Wednesdays,
for a full two hours of creativity for your child.

the world. In this new series of workshops middle schoolers have the opportunity
to put their artistic talents to work on community engagement projects
for Raleigh senior citizens, younger children, animals and the environment.
Each eight-week workshop will focus on helping a different
community group through the arts. From learning new artistic techniques
and skills in class, students will move on to creating artwork, performances
and other projects, which they will collectively present to the groups
they are serving at the end of each workshop. Weekly classes are 90 minutes
