Adult Modern Technique
A unique opportunity for beginning dance students to experience physicality
in a thoughtful and fun environment. This introduction to modern technique
will focus on increasing flexibility, muscle tone, short term memory,
imagination and an awareness of how the body can move in the safest and
most efficient manner. Limit 12 students.

Intermediate Adult Modern Technique
This modern technique class was designed for adult students with a solid
command of modern dance vocabulary and at least three years prior training.
In this class dancers will focus on refining their technique as well as
using their creative abilities to gain fluency in the language of motion.
Improvisation and composition will be used to experiment with elements
learned in previous classes. Limit 16 students.

Intermediate/Advanced Modern
Technique
Intermediate/Advanced Technique was designed for students with a solid
command of modern dance vocabulary and at least four years prior training.
Technique is refined as students master increasingly difficult dance combinations
and exercises. Using a collaborative structure, greater emphasis is placed
on composition and improvisation to increase students’ creative
abilities. Limit 16 students.

Advanced Modern Technique
Advanced Modern Technique is a professional level course for the serious
dancer. Students stretch themselves as they learn complex dance combinations
and exercises. Classes are taught in a collaborative environment with
a focus on composition and improvisation to heighten students’ creativity.
The perfect class for the future, current or former dance major or professional
dancer. At least five years prior training required. Limit 16 students.

BALLET
Ballet for Adults
Designed for both ballet novices and those who took class in their youth,
this course will explore classical dance technique in a relaxed and enjoyable
environment. Students will review the basic positions, vocabulary and
traditional sequence of exercises that move from the barre to center then
across the floor. Physical alignment, balance, strength, flexibility and
control will be emphasized. Ballet shoes are optional. Limit 14 students.

Intermediate/Advanced Ballet
Students will continue their training in vocabulary, positions and traditional
steps at the barre, in the center and moving across the floor. Alignment,
strength, balance and control within a tension-free body will be emphasized.
This course is great for modern dance students who want to better understand
the relationship between the two techniques, as well as those students
who are looking for a thorough, intermediate to advanced level ballet
class. Four years prior training required. Limit 14 students.

HIP HOP JAZZ
Beginning Hip Hop Jazz
This class is designed for adults who have had little or no dance training,
who would like to learn how to get down and funky in a safe and fun environment.
Students will learn jazz technique with an emphasis on rhythm, isolation
and syncopation in this beginning level course. Dancing to current hip
hop music, dancers will learn dynamic hip hop moves that are put into
a series of movement sequences. A great workout for your mind and body!
Limit 14 students.

Pilates
Pilates exercise techniques have been popular with dancers for years because
they strengthen core abdominal and back muscles, while increasing flexibility,
balance and body alignment. Students of all ages and abilities enjoy Pilates
classes because they provide safe, low-impact workouts that refresh and
invigorate. Limit 18 students.

Morning
Yoga
This class will introduce you to the practice of yoga. Beginning yoga
postures will be taught with a focus on proper alignment, integration
of breathing techniques, strength and flexibility, fortifying the joints
and learning balance. Suitable for beginners, as well as men and women
with previous yoga experience. Class covers Yoga Levels I and II. Limit
20 students.
